I resisted the urge to do this for quite a while, but I knew I was going to cave some time or another. Anyway, I'm about to enter my senior year at Williams College and will be applying to law schools in the fall. I haven't taken the LSAT yet, but I've averaged a 168-169 over the course of half a dozen tests (the goal is to consistently break 170 on the next dozen exams I take; will be taking the September administration). GPA is solid (3.92). Looking at the following schools:

HYS
UCLA, Georgetown, Penn, NYU, GWU, USC, Boston College, Boston U

I suppose really what this boils down to is whether or not I can actually crack the 170 ceiling, giving me a realistic chance at HYS. The main problem seems to be the logic games section (yeah, join the club, right?), though I think I'm improving slowly but surely. I've gone through PowerScore and am currently reading through "Ace the LSAT Logic Games". Thoughts? I've heard tons about PowerScore, but not much about the book I'm going through now. Useful? And if I crack 170, what are my prospects in general?

hey, I remember you from the old CC board (either that or I'm imagining things). Anyway, i think for HYS you would probably need 173+ to be competitive. But with your GPA, your chances at the other schools seem really good, even if you score 168/169.

Nope, you're not imagining things. I used to be quite the CC-obsessed poster back in the day. Surprise, surprise, few things have changed. I was an anxious guy looking to get into a top college back then, and I'm an anxious guy now looking to get into a top law school. I seem to recall your name too...

haha, I'm in the same boat right now. I took the June LSAT though...anxiously waiting for my score.

OT.....

crnchycereal and soulofheaven,

It is good to hear from both of you again (Crnchy, I remember you from the Williams board and I hope you have had a really great time there). My gosh it seems like this is old home week as the many of the parents are posting this week whose kids are also rising seniors (it seems like yesterday when everyone was deciding where to go).

all the best to the both of you.

Thanks Sybbie. I'll need all the luck I can get: by this time next week I'll have my LSAT score. Scary thought.
