im not good at finding all the roots and squares to type them out so excuse my technophobity ( is that a word?) :)

square root of (x^2 - t^2) = 2t-x

if x and t are positive numbers that satisfy the equation above, what is the value of x/t ??

well,another math question,let's see...
* square root of (x^2 - t^2) = 2t-x
<=>(x^2 - t^2)=(2t-x)^2
<=>x^2 -t^2=4t^2 - 4tx + x^2
<=>5t^2 = -4tx
because t>0,so
<=>5t=-4x
<=> x/t = -5/4
hope it's rite :-)

hope someone can figure out how its solved !
thanx anywayz

oooh shoot thats the correct answer i must have been looking elsewhere
thanx and sorry!! :)

Phew,u make me nervous!Anyway,I'm willing to answer any math problems you dunno

Just wondering how - 5/4 is the answer when it says that x and t are positive numbers?

<=>(x^2 - t^2)=(2t-x)^2
<=>x^2 -t^2=4t^2 - 4tx + x^2
<=>5t^2 = 4tx
because t>0,so
<=>5t=4x
<=> x/t = 5/4
Sorry,how stupid I'm.That's correct one.
