I think it basically saves you the $6-$7 reporting fee for those two schools. Of course if your S or D takes the test again, you will probably want to send the schools the updated scores.

Maybe I'm being too lazy to look, but my S got one of the one-time $2500 awards.

I know it's greedy (isn't that the American way?), but if he accepts the UF Scholarship, can he get both, or is the UF scholarship in lieu of the $2500?

Congrats! My D just got one too. It is my understanding that since the $2500 is his to take wherever, he could accept the UF also. My D has gotten full-ride offers from several schools (I think UF was one that offered her something early on, but its on the wrong coast for us). She put down ASU (Ariz) as her safety school. They told her that any outside scholarships she got would be put into her account for her to draw on and that if there is a balance left when she graduates, they will cut a check for her. Very tempting as shes already gotten quite a few outside ones. But, as with everything, I imagine it depends on the individual school.

But by all means, accept the $2500 from NM. It is completely separate from the school offers he receives.

I had called NM a couple of months back, and was told that NM has a "cap" of approx. $2000 on the amount any individual college can give out as NM money. BUT the college can give any amount they would like to in addition to the "NM money."
