<p>Are you taking a test to test out of the course or to take the course? I believe there is written and oral sections.</p>

<p>I was told that for my Japanese placement test I would have a written test and an interview and I would receive my results the same day.</p>
<p>Well I am taking French, hopefully to pass out.</p>
<p>I think for the big three (Spanish, German, French), you have a purely multiple choice test, with the first part being written questions, and the second part being listening comprehension. For the smaller languages, you have to individually set up an appointment to get placed.</p>
