Another UT Thread

I am from a very prestigous unraking private boarding school in the northeast
I am Black and a Resident of Texas

Freshmen Year (At Independent School in Middle East- I am an American Citizen but have lived overseas for all my life)
3.6 Unweighted GPA. No Honors Classes Available at School

Sophmore Year (First Year at a Considerably Harder Boarding School)
3.0 Unweighted (Terrible I know, but taking 3 classes that juniors take)

Junior Year
3.5

I dont have any AP courses at this time, because enrollment in AP's is very limited at my school. There are only 10 possible AP classes to take, however senior year I will be taking 2 AP's.

ACT Score: 27 expected to bring up to atleast a 29, hopefully a 30.

I do a lot of community service for my community service club, I sponser the blood drive, work in soup kitchens, run the can drive. I also have taught kids how to read.

I have played lacrosse for 10 years of my life.
Clubs: Amnesty, Habitat for Humanity, Debate Club, Student Mentor. Minority Awarness Club, Community Service Club.

There have been numerous threads about UT Austin's difficulty to get into, however none of them have really adressed my issues. How will UT view me as a student from Private School? Will coming from an unranking school help me or hurt me?

what boarding school do you go out of curiousity? I would think your chances are pretty good considering UT probably gets very few apps from kids at elite NE boarding schools.

Sorry Meat,
Midwest not Northeast, oversight.

well, all the same, I would think you have a very good shot, however, I don't know anything about the ACT, have you thought about taking the SAT?

Take The Sat's in October, failed a practice test, but i wasnt really focused. Hopefully i will get atleast a 1900.

bump!!!!!!!!!!

So Nobody knows? Would coming from boarding school and living in the mid. east most of my life be considered as my two hooks?

Does anywhere know my chances of being accepted to USC, Rice, or Emory?
