Another Writing Question

<p>Answer is E, I thought it was B because the sentence is in the past tense? "As skilled a...."</p>

<li>As finalists, Mark and I were (both shocked) by the decision; (it seemed) to us that the winner of the contest was (far less) talented than (we).</li>
</ol>

<p>Answer is E. I thought it was D, since it needs "we are" or else its an illogical comparison? or is it the correct comparison, comparing the winner of the contest which is modified by the predicate phrase(far less talented) to "we"? is that correct?</p>

<p>21 isn’t B because dancing is a talent and being a good dancer can’t really be in the past, unless he is dead, which isn’t implied in the sentence.</p>

<li>The answer is E because we is comparing the the winner of the contest ( the subject in the second clause) to the subject of the first clause (plural, Mark and I). Thus, the comparison is logical.</li>
