Answers for the Class of 2013

Hey Earilmadith.

I did not live in Balch my freshman year, but I do know several people that did.

Here are the things I know about it.
I know a lot of girls enjoyed living in Balch because it was the closest dorm to classes and located right near a bus stop. It is also attached to the Takon Center which is nice because some professors hold office hours there and it is also a nice place to study. There is also a small cafe located there so if you ever want to pick up a quick coffee or something it is also right there.

It terms of the actual dorm…the rooms are a very nice size. They are much larger than what you will find in the other dorms. The closets in the rooms are also very nice so if you have a lot of stuff you will have plently of room. The rooms also have sinks which a lot of girls told me was very convenient.

From what I remember the bathrooms are set up in a traditional dorm style. Each bathroom will contain several showers, toilets, etc that will be shared by the girls in that hall. This happens in all the freshman dorms, but people will come in to clean the bathrooms so you don’t have to worry about that.

Well that is the general description of Balch. Let me know if you have any other questions. Hope that helps!
