Thanks for your wonderful answers so far! I’m a transfer student and I was an ambassador at my previous school. How do you become an ambassador and what’s the commitment like?

hm…if i want a job on campus or off…what documents do i need? is a driver’s license suffice?

You need the I-9 employment verification form and identification documents. A drivers license with a birth certificate with work, or a passport alone. There are some other document combinations that will also work.
It’s all here: http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/i-9.pdf

Hey dean5150

I would recommend trying to choose a FWS that fits into what you have right now. Sometimes FWS are hard to figure out if they will really be interesting or not. The descriptions don’t really tell you too much. I just say this because if you already have the classes you want it can be really annoying to change it all around for a class you really don’t know about yet.

Hey cernan

I don’t know specifics about that particular test. If it is anything like other math exams at Cornell it will be free response and calculators will not be allowed. I also don’t know who is making up this test so I have no idea how difficult they will make it. Sorry I don’t have more information for you.

Hey HaeJinKang45

If you want to buy used textbooks you can do that at the Cornell Store once the booklists are up. However, they will run out of these eventually so if you want a used book don’t wait. You should be able to get all of your books at the Cornell Store. Some students will also buy books online or at of bookstores where they might be cheaper.

Sometimes the professors won’t use the textbook that much so sometimes you might want to wait to see if you really want to buy it. There are cases that you may be able to find the books online or just borrow a copy from the library. The Cornell Store also gives you a few days to return a book if you realize you don’t need it (I believe you get one week to do so).

Hey goddessxx

There is an application and interview process if you are interested. You will be able to apply in the fall. Generally, you can put as much or as little time into it as you want. There is a minimum amount of events you have to participate in each semester, but I never feel like it is too much.

Hey mwhtw

If you are interested in ballroom classes you should find a partner who will take it with you. You go to class together and will learn the dances together. I have never taken a ballroom class, but a few of my friends have. They had a great time. I would say either class would be a lot of fun.

The bed height will vary depending on the bed you have. I would say generally you will have about 3-4 feet of room under the bed if you have it up high.

Hey dulc3refugio

Hey.
i’m a chinese 2014er and i’m thinking about applying for the Architecture College in Cornell.I’m really interested in architecture. But my worry is that i do not have much deeper knowledge about architecture. What i got is just penchant for drawing, taking photos, but nothing very "professional"in architecture arena, like 3-d model making, high level drawing training, which some native students got.so i’m worrying if it would be hard for a guy like me to get in AAP,or get good grades even if I get in.
Thank you for your help.

Hey
I’m a Srilankan( It’s an Island near India) 2014 er, and I’m thinkg of applying to Cornell for Mathematics and Economics combined degree. my results are 10 A’s for A/Ls and A B B C for A/L s. Can you tell me what Cornell looks for the most in an Application. Is it the Test scores, High school GPA essay or recommandation letters.
Thank you

Hey Shiyaaru

As with most universities, it will be a combination of all those factors. I cannot give you an exact test score or grade you need, because there is no correct answer to that. Cornell is looking for bright students, but they also like them to stand out so keep that in mind when you apply.

Good Luck
