How is the Anthropology department at Bowdoin? Is it completely separate than the sociology department? (I hope so!) Are there an abundance and diverse list of courses to choose from?
Thanks!

It’s not a separate dep’t. You can see course options, etc, here:

[Spring 2011 (Bowdoin - Sociology and Anthropology)](http://www.bowdoin.edu/socanthro/courses/index.shtml)

If you are interested in majoring in Anthropology it will be difficult to find what you are looking for offered at a LAC. Most LACs seem to combine Anthropology with Sociology. It is a heavily research intensive field and usually requires the resources offered by a larger research university. There are a number of threads on CC that talk about anthropology programs.
