<p>@Eaglemom10, while one can appreciate your interest in your son’s application in the Dean’s Scholar program and subsequent transfer into Math from CS, wouldn’t it be more prudent for him to be addressing inquiries here instead of you? It’s all relative anyway, since, as you assert, “it’s his decision?”</p>
<p>As my moniker denotes, I am a UT graduate, yet I have a HS junior who has put in the requisite hard work to be guaranteed auto-admitted next year from a competitive Texas high school. She has the ability to ask pertinent questions when they arise since she can subscribe to an account on CC just like the rest of us. Shouldn’t your son do the same? They all have to sink or swim at some point. </p>
<p>At UT’s summer orientation, they pointedly stress that your child is “now in control of their own decisions.” Better sooner they take the reigns than later.</p>
