Any Acceptances Yet??

I only check it like once a day, sometimes not at all. Most of the time i check it cause people here give updates. (like what just happened awhile ago)

mine changed today as well! im an arts and science major, speciffically biology or biochemestry

I'm also "yellow dot" I'm at the second highest dot so we'll see what happens. But I emailed the director of admissions the other day and they said that the majority of decisions will be made in january...which sucks.

yeah im like 2nd dot away from being blue, so yeah we will see what happens, as for how many times i check, usually once when i get home from school if i dont have a package and maybe once later at night around 11 before i go to bed

my changed to that message as well. Does anyone know what that means? or do you think they just changed the word order?

yellow dots don't seem like a bad bunch of guys! Some of those blue dots are a little too stuffy hahaha

haha agreed, hopefully all of us yellow dotters will recieve admission for the summer

Lol. I'm not even a yellow dot.

what are you then ha? and what are you stats then

i am a green dot (between yellow and blue). and i really want to be admitted to fall session, because i'll be gone during the summer break...

also, anyone know what does that status changing mean?

i hope it means a lot of decisions are coming....because that would be great.

My sons says the same. His MyPennState Account reads the new message also....
Hmmmm... Could they have changed the message across the board ?

I'm pretty sure it has been changed across the board but I just want to know their reasoning behind it.

@Collegekid,
Go to my thread for my horrible stats.

i have the change in status, too.
....was that really necessary, penn state? come on!

my friend went summer and is a freshmen at fall right now and she said she didnt find out til january along with her summer session roomate

my status has changed to that too...
i wish penn state would stop toying with my emotions! :(

I think it is a friendlier, more specific message than the first one. It sounds like they are telling you more, but it's purpose, I think, is to let you know to sit tight and wait. Like I mentioned before, I was told by admissions that the first round of letters will go out starting after Nov. 30 up until Jan. 31 (for people who applied by Nov. 30). My son checks the mailbox and internet everyday.

Hey, Everyone, my son was on the on-line chat on Monday and asked when status updates were made each day. An admission counselor said changes were made between 5 and 6 pm each day. That may save everyone some time on the computer :-)

Also learned during the on-line chat:
1. Penn State has a "modified" rolling admission....it uses applicant pools. Applications received between August 1 and November 30th are considered the first pool of applicants...there is no advantage to having an app complete Aug 4th vs. Nov 28th....they are all within the same pool....after November 30th the criteria increases...our second pool of applicants is Dec 1st to Dec 31st....after December 31st the criteria can increase again.
2. In-state and out-of state applications are evaluated at the same time.
3. Application numbers are higher this year than last when comparing today (Nov 17th) to last year at this time.
4. Students with complete applications before November 30th will hear no later than January 31st (with some exceptions)
5. In answer to the question whether they tried to notify people from the same area at once, the counselor said, no, they do not notify students based on area.....
6. Decisions are made daily and the status is only updated once a day between 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.

Hope this helps answer some questions for everyone - of course, not the most important one to each of us: will we be among those who hear now or among those who have to wait until January!!!!
