retroo, what major did they apply with? was that their weighted GPA? if it was unweighted it wouldn't matter because PSU only looks at weighted. it's crazy if that's their weighted GPA and they got in fall

Well, I won't be posting on this board any more! S just got in ED to Boston University so the waiting and anxiety is over! Calling PSU this morning to have them take his name off the list so his slot can go to one of you.

Good Luck to all of you in your quest for Penn State -- great school and I hope you all hear soon so you can have a nice, relaxing Christmas!!

Best of luck to you and your son. We have been waiting anxiously to hear from Penn Up. My sons GPA is 3.5- and an 1890 on SAT. Lots of college and AP classes. Good EC and work experience. His major is Crime Law and Justice .- I think that is in the Liberal Arts School. He really wants Penn State Up. What do you think his chances are? He has heard from some of his safety schools and was accepted there so at least we know he has something. Congratulations again and thanks for letting the school know so that maybe it will open a few more spots.

Just curious to what you guys think. 3.79GPA and a 1750SAT. On the bubble chart im like in between the yellow and blue so i cant decided what to think ahah

Congrats to the kid who got into BU ED...must be nice knowing before Christmas. Anyway, I just looked at that chart and I am well into the blue and I haven't heard back yet from Smeal. I was also just accepted into Indiana University Bloomington, Directly admitted to the Kelley School, and offered a spot in the Hutton Honors College, so if Penn state is going to be stingey, then so be it!! With that being said, I hope I hear back soon :-( !!!!!!!

I'm going to be changing my major -- does it matter that I had initially signed up for the school of music, and am going to be changing to humanities?

Of course PSU has $$ for out of staters, expect to hear about them late Feb-March- merit ones seem to come out around the same time they send back your need aid determined from your FAFSA
