My son is not an international applicant, but I specifically called the FA office to ask if he would still be eligible for a merit scholarship even if we ticked the box for not applying for FA. I was told that the two are completely separate and it would not affect the chances for a merit scholarship.

You must submit the form to receive an acceptance, so you should do so as soon as possible - you will not receive an acceptance in April if you do not. This information is clearly stated on USC’s website. I am very sorry that you didn’t see it. As I said, if you submit now, you could still be accepted in April.

I’m from a 9x5 mile island called Jersey, (which is off of France, but we’re part of the UK) and I’ve been admitted as a finalist for the Presidential Scholarship, GAH so happy!

Although I’m confused, as I received a ‘sorry we missed you’ card in the post, telling me to go collect the package… meanwhile I was stressing out with my dad thinking we were late in submitting the financial support statement. Finally submitted it, went to collect the package the next day and it turns out it was the acceptance packet?! How were they able to make a decision without the document?

Very frustrating that it’s imperative I go over again for the interview, as I already saved 2 grand to visit on my own last October… however if I have the chance of $22000 off, then I have to go. Although even if I did manage to get the scholarship, I would still have to find £21000 a year :’(

That scholarship, if awarded to you, is worth $88,000. If tuition rises, it will go up as well. At Explore you will be staying in a dorm. There will not be hotel expenses.

A suggestion…You have already visited the campus. Perhaps you could e-mail your admissions counselor and see if a skype interview might be a possibility since you are far from a major airport. I do know where the island of Jersey is located and realize that would be quite an expensive trip to Los Angeles.

Hey there!! admitted student from Singapore here. (admitted to Leventhal, finalist for Presidential scholarship) but wondering if I can get a telephone interview instead (unlikely to fly all the way to US for this) anyone?
