My SAT scores don't seem to "match" with my SAT IIs (all 700+), GPA (over 4.0 weighted) or AP scores (no lower than a 4 on all the exams taken so far).

I really don't know why I did so bad on the SATs. I have prep books, but I never attended any SAT prep classes because of financial difficulties.

I was wondering if anyone can give me any advice on how to study for the SATs... I do pretty well on the MATH section, but I can only score in the high 500s on verbal and writing... can someone really help me and give me some advice?

Thanks, I really appreciate this. =]

dude this same thing happens to me. all u need to do is practice like a mofo. somepeople are naturally good at this section but like me (and u), we aint. :(
buy a whole rack of SAT books from amazon (most are like 10 bux each)
read the strategies and do the practice tests. Make sure u get the blue official book.

I'm sure you've heard this before, but the SAT doesn't test how smart you are. It tests how well you take the SAT and that's it. For the verbal section, I'd recommend doing practice problems from the blue book and then reading over the explanations to the answers (can be found on Amazon) to find out patterns and learn what sort of answers the CB is looking for. If you don't want to do the work yourself you can look in a prep book. I can personally recommend Grammatix, but people also say Rocket Review is good as well. Good luck.
