Any average Joe's out there?

Just wanted to k.ow if there are any normal 1500 SAT 3.0 gpa students out there, because all I see on CC is future Einstein's with 3000+ SAT 6.0 gpas and 1 million AP classes lol.
I considered myself average, I have a 3.8 unweighted gpa, a 1480 SAT and a 43 out of 519 rank.
I'm not a future ivy leaguer.
Just curious.

That’s probably a 1480/1600. That class rank is probably due to the extremely competitive nature of your HS. You just want to mock people with average stats. Shame on you, you Ivy-aspiring b*stard! :D

Actually it’s a 1480 out of 2400, and my high school is NOT competitive what so ever. My high school consists of future drop outs, people who want to go to a community college, and where people wear their pajamas to school everyday. So yes I wouldn’t consider myself anywhere near an ivy leaguer. I get A’s because my teacher’s give out tons of extra credit.
I’m not mocking anyone, I just want to know if their are regular people out there.

me. 10char

I’m going to a community college. I’ve been wearing pajamas all day.

Pleased to meet you.

I’m serious if you would go to my school for a day, you would see some crazy things going on. People bring stuffed animals, capes etc. Idk I just go to a weird school, where people don’t care about life after high school, except the IB kids of course.
Anyone out there that wears a cape to school, transfer to mine. You would fit right in.

Oh yeah, I have one of those, too.

I always wanted to wear a cape to school… Only did it once, during a homecoming dress-up day. Then I fell wearing rollerblades on the second floor of school and broke my arm. No more capes for me.

The disappointing thing (if you care about Ivy League schools) is that neither are most of the people on here with insane stats.

My school is average, my ECs are average, my abilities are average, etc., etc. Grades/SAT scores are pretty much the only thing I’m above-average at.

Well I’m lucky that I don’t care about being a ivy leaguer.I’m fine with going to a CSU. I know I can still be successful at a CSU.
If I went to an ivy league, nobody would wear capes there. I would feel out of place.

I’m an average Joe for CollegeConfidential - 3.7 UW GPA & 2100 SAT - but I’m considered to be an above average student at my school - 10th/500 - but yeah. No ivy league for mehh.

^ only 2100, common you can do better if u studied…

Same as preamble but I’m a urm

Soooo

Same as preamble but I’m a urm

Soooo

I guess some of my peers would consider me high-achieving (they think I’m going to Harvard or something), but to be honest, I don’t think I’m destined for a top school. /: There’s nothing really special about me.

Haha this post made me laugh!
Yeah seeing this website makes me a bit sad beacuse of how much better everyone seems to be doing than I am. I am the average Joe. My GPA is good enough for UCs, my SAT score is above average and I do a bunch of extracurriculars. There you have it :)

Have any of you won any competitions (doesn’t matter if it’s as small as a local writing contest or as big as Intel)? I know I’m only a sophomore, but the only thing I’ve “won” in high school was the ARI Anthem essay contest last year (and I didn’t even win, I was only a semi-finalist).

Nah. I don’t really enter them often, though.
Two years ago we had a science fair and I didn’t get first, second, or third place. And there were only five participants, so there were more people who placed than there were people who didn’t…

I’d rather eat rusty nails than sit down and take practice tests and “study” for the SAT. The only review I ever did was the night before I looked up angles from intersections amongst parallel lines, I believe. That was it. Math was still my lowest section, lol.
