Any Bulgarians Applying this year??

A friend of mine got a likely letter from Nortwestern a month ago.

Oh really? winkie

yeah hallu,
that's right :)
and she may eventually end up deciding between NU and Upenn.

Upenn sucks, go Wildcats.

Seriously, if she's business bound, definitely Wharton. If she's journalism bound, definitely Medill. If she's economics bound, both are great and about equal. About the other majors, I couldn't care less...

Hey Martine -- what's the name of that girl and does she actually have any real answers yet?

lorddragon04,
as far as I know - not any real decisions yet. But NU releases its decisions around mid april right ?

End of March, last year it was March 27.

Hello. I am and Albanian brother. There is no Albanian thread on this website so i thought i could join your thread if you don'd mind. First i wish anyone good luck with application and to recieve as many acceptance letters as possible. Second i would like to have an opinion about an university there in Bulgaria AUBG. I hope it accepts me becasue if it does not accept me and if the US Embassy refutes to give me a Visa then i would be bound to go to an Albanian university wich is something i hate. So could you tell me what r my chances in gettin in at AUBG? Sat Math 780 CR 560 WR 570 (Essay 08) SATII Math IIC 720 Italian 760 And Biol M 670. GPA 9.05 out of 10 (approximately 84%) and a good ECA. Class senator and Administrator of school funds for 2 years (11th 12th grade). Member of "Albanian Youth Parliament", Member of the Tirana's Municipality Youth Group and volunteered at United Nation's "world food prgramme" for 1 year. (also played soccer for the hole 4 years of highschool). Can you please tell me what are the chances? And if you have heard about Lehigh and Colgate in Us can you tell me what are the chances for those two universities as well? Thank u

Olsi, I think u r definitely in, ur SAT score is 1350 (aubg does not count thw writing) and considering the fact that ur country is in-region u may receive financial aid. Have u applied for aid btw ?

Math 780 + CR 560 = 1340

^^^ yeah sorry , still it's just 10 pts

Besides, they seem to love albanians, they're like the second largest group on campus. so go ahead and apply, you have a pretty reasonable chance. gl;)

thank you for your messages of hope. but recieving so many rebuttal letters from overseas (i apply for a lot of aid) i have become very skeptic. BTW do you know if AUBG is need-blind. I mean if they do not want to give aid to someone do they dissmis his application or they just accept him but do not award any aid?

Hey Olsi,

I think that they give aid, but that they are not need-blind. Like the others I aslo thing that you are in at AUBG.

Your credentials look strong for Lehigh, but with that school it really depends on how much fin aid you need. I applied to Lehigh last year, and I got rejected. They outright told me that the reason I got rejected was because of my fin aid. They simply could not afford me.

About Colgate - I fear that in your case it is a reach...but then you never know with college admissions, so don't lose faith.

GOOD LUCK!!!

hi folks
excuse me but i have an offtopic question.
Did any of u take part in the public speaking competition today in Sofia ?

any bulgarians accepted ?

I'm in at DUKE! i din't even remotely hope for that! i know a friend from acs who got into upenn, and another one from my class in macalester.
any of u guys in duke, vassar or tufts?

hey man
what happened with Martina Bozadjieva

no idea, haven't heard from her. i think she had a harvard interview, which is a good sign they say. when i find out whre she's at, i'll tell you :)

man, i was rejected everywhere i cant beleive it
