Any chance?

Ok... I loved tufts.. but am I without a chance?

Writing 630 660

I went up a lot... i choked my first time.

i have like mid 90's average, probably top 25% (my fresh year grades are bad but jr. and soph make up for that)

since i wanna be pre vet.. it may help that i spent all the rest of my time at a barn

i play violin.. and have all 4 years of HS

i know the SATs aren't stellar... but...

you'll have to write a really amazing essay...

as for your class rank and GPA, what sort of school do you go to? because top 25 percent is usually only acceptable for private or really competitive public schools...

To be honest, it's going to be a long shot.

the average at tufts is for people to be in the top 6 percent of their class.

top 6 percent is for admitted, i wonder what the average is for enrolled

Welp, all i can do is hope for the best. I'm getting my first book published this summer so i hope that will help too.

ooh whats it about

A published book might help ... :)

It's poetry. And i hope so....

Interesting :)

Are you really considered an outstanding student in your school? The reason I ask this is that it will equate with good, unique recommendations, which are an essential part of the top "whole package" that a school like Tufts will be looking for. That would probably go a long way in fixing the rank problem, etc. My concern is still the SAT's. Can you take the SAT I a 3rd time? There's absolutely no harm in doing that; as with all of the top universities, Tufts will take your best individual scores...

I will take it again...and I think I did really well, in all my subject tests. I prob. got like a 790 in math; bio and U.S. prob. round 700s, maybe higher. So maybe that will help.
But I'm going to study all summer and take my SAT's again. I know this doesn't really matter, but the speaker, when I went to tufts, mentioned tikkun olam, putting the world back together. Do you think it helps a smidge that I spent last summer doing a program that sets its platform on that?

I think you can get in, esp if you can bring up your SATs. The published book sounds cool and will definately help you.

Nice :) High SAT II's definitely help. That will help you. As i've said before, the book really helps too. Personally, i'm not familiar with "tikkun olam" but if you've shown a strong commitment, that's excellent. Remember, with any of the top institutions, if they see a weak point (realtive, we're talking about), a very strong point in another area will make up for it (to an extent).
