Any chance?

<p>Here’s my info:</p>

<li>I attend a large but fairly strong public school in the suburbs of New York</li>
<li>My unweighted GPA is a 97,
-I have taken the most challenging course-load available each year</li>
<li>Senior year schedule: AP English, AP Spanish, AP Government, BC Calculus, AP Physics C, Orchestra</li>
<li>SAT I:
Verbal- 800, Math- 760, Writing- 800</li>
<li>SAT IIs:
U.S. History- 800, Physics- 750, will be taking Spanish in October
(also Bio- 680, Math IC- 670, but I don’t like to talk about those…I didn’t prepare very well)</li>
<li>Should be getting great recommendations</li>
<li>Very creative and unique essay</li>
<li>I don’t feel like listing my ecs, and you probably don’t feel like reading them, but to sum up:
-very involved in music in and out of school (classical and jazz piano, cello)
-soccer player and referee (varsity and club)

<li> contributor and editor of literary magazines</li>
<li>avid unicyclist</li>
</ul></li>
</ul>

<p>I know its hard to judge chances at competitive schools like Amherst, but do you think it is a match, or reach for me?</p>

<p>I will NEVER say Amherst is a match for anyone. It is a reach for everyone. Will you continue with soccer in college? If so, have you contacted the coach? You have good stats, so now you have to concentrate on your essays - there are no interviews, so they are critical in the admissions process. Work hard on them, and Good Luck!</p>

<p>wow that's a very impressive SAT score...given the rest of your info i'd say you have a decent chance, but like ejr1 said, Amherst is pretty much a reach for anyone.</p>
