<p>I already applied. I have a 1270 SAT, I am the valedictorian, captain of four teams and president of one club. URM from the south bronx. I know my sat are kinda below the midlle 50% but I am hoping they will take into consideration that the average score in my school is a 750.</p>
<p>The average score of your school won't make any difference, it only shows that you don't come from a competitive school which hurts the strength of your class rankings aside from that I think you have as good a chance as any. Your SAT score isn't THAT low, without other info I can't really help you. GPA? Ranking? More specific ecs?</p>

<p>Solely because it adds to the URM status ... they prefer URMs from disadvantaged environments over URMs from affluent areas. Im a URM also, but im from a top, affluent, public school. Ive heard that colleges will take that into consideration, and it will somewhat harm my URM status (altho no one can say for sure by how much).</p>
