<p>I applied to Stanford, University of Virginia, William and Mary, and Duke University. I already got into Virginia tech!!:) lol</p>

<p>Background
south virginia resident
Small public school(340 some students)
Indian(asian) ethnicity
Brother goes to UVA(if that helps any if at all)
1st generation U.S college prospect(college went to college, just not in the US)</p>

<p>Academics
rank 1st out of 340
Un-weighted GPA: 3.96 Weighted GPA: 4.33
ACT Composite: 32 SAT Subject Tests: Physics-620, Math II-660, and U.S. History-720
SAT- 690mth, 650reading, 640writing
Advanced Placement Scores: U.S. History-5, English lang-4, Calculus AB-4, European history-4
National Honors Society Member
Go to a Governors School for math and technology this year.
Midyear grades- all A's above(all but 2 classes above 95 and the transcript shows the numbers, dont know if this makes a difference or not)</p>

<p>Activities:
Varsity Cross country runner for 4 years- senior co captain, all district runner, participated at states for 2 years.
Varsity Indoor track runner for 4 years- varsity letter 4 years all district 2 mile runner
Varsity outdoor track runner for 4 years- varsity letter 4 years
Class treasurer for junior and senior year
Hospital volunteer in Emergency Department 180+ hours.
Work at parents convenient store for past 6 years during summer and weekends
Summer internship at cardiologist and family physicians office for 30+ hours</p>

<p>Awards:
AP Scholar with Honor
National Questbridge Finalist
Award for Academic Excellence(4 years from school, pretty crappy)
Deans list at local community college
National Honor Society 2 years</p>

<p>Um probably an amazing rec from gc, good recs from 2 teachers, and good essays nothing amazing.</p>

<p>What do you guys think my chances are at the above colleges?</p>

<p>Stanford-reach...its like that for everyone...but not a very likely one (sorry)
W&M-match to low reach...very good shot
Duke-reach, but an attainable one. gonna take some good essays
not familar with UVA..sorry...

<p>Unfortunately, your SAT/ACT scores aren't quite competitive enough for Stanford, although being a valedictorian and your GPA are great. High reach though.</p>

<p>Duke's a reach, but you never know. You should be good for W&M and UVA.</p>

<p>Spot on. The brother at UVA doesn't make a difference, but UVA is a pretty low match for you.</p>

<p>can someone please tell me what everything means? low match and all the terminology confuses me lol. Does low match mean, i have a low chance of being matched with UVA?</p>
