The post is kinda long, but please bear with me.

I'm planning to major in chemE, but I still have a lot of questions about that major, so I decided to attend the admit day and see what information could I get.

Well, I went to that 10:30am MAE/SE overview, and chemE was only briefly mentioned during the presentation. After that I followed the MAE group to Engineering Building II to have a look of those laboratories. Once again, chemE was left out and all the places we went were ME related.

I know MAE has nothing to do with chemE, but it's under their administration (and it's placed under the MAE overview), so I was really expecting something from the presentation. Unfortunately, there was barely anything related to chemE.

Dissatisfied, I went to the Foyer to seek help. I asked one of those people where could I talk to chemE faculty/student and get more information about that department. She tried to point to the 10:30am overview, but then I told her I went to there and there was absolutely nothing. She then gave me a pick slip with a list of Engineering Department contact information, addresss, etc. I saw there was a room number for chemE department, so I asked her, "can I go to that room and talk to the faculty/student?" She answered, "Oh, they're not here. They left after the oviewview. You can visit them again on Monday or call them/e-mail them." I was like, ***? I came all the way from SF to here and you told me to e-mail them to get more information?

So yeah, this is the situation. Is there anyone majoring in chemE here? Is the chemE department only receive that much attention on the campus? Or is it just me, who failed to find any information on the admit day? Seriously, I was looking forward to major in chemE before the admit day. But after that, I need to reconsider it again.

Can somebody correct me? I really hope that I'm wrong.
