Anyone in here applied to the College of Chemistry? I applied under the new Chemical Biology major. If I end up at CAL, I totally will transfer out of the CofC into L&S to major in Public Health and Social Welfare.

I also applied to the College of Chemistry. However, I am planning to do a double major in Chemical Engineering and Nuclear Engineering. If I get admitted, I guess I will be both in the College of Chemistry and the College of Enigineering. (Fingers Crossed!!!!!!!)

i applied for chemE too. the chemical/materials science engineering double major sounds great. too bad double majors have to wait until junior year to transfer in.

innsayneidiot.....did u apply as a freshman applicant for the chemE major?

chem E too

CE as well =)

wow, i didn't know there are so many CEs

Wow, am I the only to apply for straight out CHEM!?

in addition to my last post, since Cal is the #1 chem school in the nation, does anyone know how many chem undergrads there usually a year? I was up there twice this past year, and their chem facilities are awesome.

grrrrrrrrrrrr............... after just having seen ur post, i think my chance of being admitted is puny to none now..........WOAWUUWUW!

I applied as a straight chem major. I actually hadn't realized how highly Berkely was ranked in chem. Hopefully I'll get in.

despite being the top chem school, i heard from an administrator at the school that applying with chem is an easier way to get in. apparently it isn't as impacted as many of the other sciences.

that is true....but i don't think that once you get into the College of Chemistry, they will let you transfer out to another college. I am just glad that Chemical Enigneering is not in the College of Engineering.

Yeah good luck transfering schools, I went to the admissions presentation and they said it was VERY difficult to transfer, especially if you are moving between very different things like Eng and L&S

I think College of Chem is relatively easy to get in because i remembered on the college of chemistry admission website they said something like , don't put CC as ur major if u don'treally wana major in it because you will never get out......... lol, it also implies how hard it is to transfer

here is the link http://chemistry.berkeley.edu/ugrad_info/pros_ugrad/admission/freshmen.html
so u know that i was't lying..
look at myth2

ugh...this is one of the reasons why CAL is at the bottom of my list. god the draconian boundaries.

i guess the College of Chemistry is tired of cheap transfers getting into Cal and then transfering out. They should get rid of that.

Why do ppl want to transfer out of the College of Chem??!?

urhg.. =

I got into the College of Chemistry as a chem major. I'm gonna try to switch to ChemE though...or even double major in chemistry and chemE.
