Any colleges that are generous to transfers???

I want to transfer from my community college, but I don't know where to go since everywhere I'm looking seem to be too expensive for me. My parents can't pay for anything so I would have to take out loans. The most I can probably afford is maybe 20,000-25,000/year and that's IF i can get scholarship/grants from the school and aid from the government. My grades at my CC are excellent, but I don't have any extracurriculars. Also, I don't play sports or anything like that. I'm getting really discouraged because it seems as though wherever I look, I can't find anything. Also, I think i'm just becoming extremely overwhelmed with looking for cheaper schools because I still want a good education and many of the cheaper schools don't seem to have very strong academics. I have also seen the schools that my CC have articulation agreements with, but they are for specific majors and I'm not interested in any of them.

Where do I start?

Your IS publics.

Look at the merit scholarship thread on the Resources sticky thread.

The schools that give the best need based FA to transfers are also the most selective. For instance, HYS give the same FA to transfers that they do to fr admits. However, even some of the most selective have limited FA for transfers, for example, Brown & Columbia. The only publics that treat OOS transfers like IS for FA are UNC-CH and UVA.

Where do you live? I’m living in Texas and almost every public universities here are in that 20k-25k/year (total cost of attendance including tuition, housing, meal, books). If you can commuter from home that may cost even less than 10k/year.
