Does anyone know of any good summer camps for CS-related interests? I currently have COSMOS, John Hopkins Engineering, and CMU on my list but I’d like to sign up for one more. I’m hoping to learn a lot and actually get something out of the programs I apply to.
I wouldn’t waste my time on those. By the time you graduate college and could use those skills in any practical sense, the software will be outdated. There are plenty of specifics to learn in college, and the job market for computers is ridiculously employable. I would just focus on getting in somewhere affordable.
May Ai4All. Learn something new, meet some new people, and have a fun summer. Programs at several universities…
I’m guessing you live in CA if you’re applying to COSMOS? Because from what I heard, COSMOS isn’t the best for non-California residents.
In this COVID time, most programs will be online, so that means you can apply to further programs. I recommend several university programs like at Stanford or U Chicago.
Yeah, I am a California resident applying to the UCSD clusters. In terms of Stanford or U Chicago, are you talking about general online courses?
There should be Stanford Summer Institutes that are great, here’s a link: https://summerinstitutes.spcs.stanford.edu/
I’m not too sure about U Chicago, but there’s stuff like http://precollege.berkeley.edu/.
I’m not too sure if these are exactly camps or not, but definitely from what I heard a great experience.
