Are there any current students out there who would be willing to answer a few questions?
what do you like best? worst? What is the atmosphere in classes like when political issues come up? Is there tolerance? Are clubs big? What is the party scene like
You should follow some of our Social Media Ambassadors! They are current students sharing their Pitt experience on Instagram and Twitter. You can find a list of them here: https://oafa.pitt.edu/explore/social-media/
@AFM all my 3 kids were/are in engineering so the size was never an issue really in classes. The larger intro classes were usually 120 kids - with breakouts of 30 kids in recitations. As far as the social size - they each joined clubs/activities that created communities for them. My son was in the marching band all 4 yrs, my daughter did study abroad (fully funded) one summer and then is in midst of a full yr coop near campus. My other daughter was heavily invested in research, spending 4 years (incl summers) in one particular lab, and was able to be published before graduation. She actually ended up with about 4 publications from her lab research at Pitt all said and done.
Actually - try to post on r e d d i t - their subthread should respond. I just know there are few kids on CC but alot more there.
Pitt is a really good balance of great academics, school spirit (but not cult like psu - lol) and accessibility to alot of fun in Pittsburgh (and a pretty economically friendly place off campus as well).
