Any engineering kids had much luck finding sumer internships

here’s an internship that is also a study abroad (combines work-internship with taking a class) in London for engineering and business students. Unfortunately, there is a cost.

and Spain

Mike, I don’t think the Career Center is involved in internships, but maybe I’m wrong. Internships seem to be more dept based in getting info out to students.

here is a resume example for a student…

Places that I know hire eng’g interns

DirecTV
Google
Boeing
Northrop Grumman
Oak Ridge Nat’l Lab
US Army Redstone Arsenol
NASA
Benchmark

Mike, we live in Birmingham, and DH works for a major utility :-)

here’s more internships that I got from a Bama email to students.

[DOE Scholars Program](DOE Scholars Program)

We were told that study abroad costs would be covered under their sholarship, do you know how that would apply to these costs?

I am now interested and willl need to look at this more closely, but are these the only study abroad offerings? i.e. (max of 20 students to London)? I haven’t looked into this enough, but I was hoping/thinking there would be more opportunities (formalized) for both study abroud and summer internship programs, I am going to see what I can find out from the business school too…

There are literally hundreds of study abroad offerings for many different countries.

here is the UA study abroad website…there are also faculty-led summer study abroad and regular study abroad…and semester abroad.
<a href=“Education Abroad – International | The University of Alabama”>Education Abroad – International | The University of Alabama;

Scholarships can be applied to study abroad…especially for a SEMESTER abroad. The problem with using a scholarship for a SUMMER abroad is that you’ll lose a semester…so you’ll have to graduate early or pay for the 8th semester. And for the summer, you must take at least 6 credits.

ahh, perfect, and thank you!
