Does anyone know anything about Fairleigh Dickinson University’s audition process? I know its a lesser known college. I’m auditioning for the BA in Theatre Arts with a concentration in MT. Its my last college MT audition (thank god). I’ve read stuff on their website and it looks like a good program. I was just wondering if anyone had auditioned and knew anything about the process
I think @NYKaren might if I remember right.
@NYKaren if you have an information on the auditions, it would be greatly appreciated
@SB252001, hi. Sorry I just saw this. Was at Accepted Student Day all day.
Yes! My son auditioned back in October and was accepted to the program. It seems like a good program. I know they are morevwell known for straight theatre but the students all seem to enjoy the program and get goodbtrainkng. We especially liked their affiliation with the Shakespearean Theatre of NJ and the semester in London!
It was a pretty relaxed audition with program head. Personal experience with no dance call. No one else was with us that day but not sure if thatnis how it always is or if it was because it was an early audition. No accompaniest so be sure to have a good, reliable blue tooth speaker. Only asked for 1 32-Bar selection and 1 monologue no longer than 2-minutes. Short interview afterwards about goals, why are you looking at us, does it matter to you a BA vs BFA questions. Asked resume questions and about other interests. Asked my son about his experience working at our zoo as an education volunteer. Hope this helps!
He ultimately chose another school — Nazareth College in Rochester, NY for BFA.
@NYKaren thank you! This totally helps!
@SB252001, Break a leg! and if you think of anything else you want to know before the audition, let me know!
