Any fellow Whovians out there?

Love it!! We have a lot of DW items as well. I have this 4 1/2’ tall cabinet that’s been in the family since I was little. I’m turning it into a Tardis boardgame cabinet for the game room I’m re-doing; I’ve been debating which Tardis to use

I think I’m going to go for David Tennant’s old color/style tardis, but I need to practice the black stain dry brush technique before I start it.

I clicked on this thread thinking it was about “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” and Whoville!

I really like Whittaker’s doctor, but I agree about Chibnall’s writing. I think that Whittaker does a great job, but is working with inferior scripts.

I also never really liked Clara that much, and I was really excited to see Captain Jack returning. I liked how Jack switched pronouns for the doctor depending on which doctor he was talking about, even in the same sentence.

My favorite companion will always be Donna, and Tennant is still my favorite doctor.

D19 loved Dr Who, and actually cos-played at Chicago’s Comicon as a female version of Eccleston’s doctor, while her best friend dressed as Rose - they did a pretty good job. She got a photo with John Barrowman, who was really sweet to her and her friend.

We also visited the studios when we visited my wife during her sabbatical in Cambridge.

That was the actual Tardis setup that they were using for filming - we really lucked out and visited when they weren’t filming, so they were giving tours in the actual Tardis that day.

She’s less into it nowadays, unfortunately, but my wife and I still watch it.

Your D must have had such fun at Comi-con! Back in 2014 my family did a 3 day Dr. Who tour around Wales. It was a blast! Great tour guide and saw so many parts of Wales where they filmed the show…many more places than we would have found on our own. One of highlights was having lunch with the owners of the house featured in Family of Blood after we toured it. Wales is a beautiful country. We were also fortunate to visit the Dr. Who Experience as it was still in Cardiff. Sad that it’s gone now…a fantastic collection of interesting costumes, sets and memorabilia from the show.

Wish we didn’t have to wait an entire year for the new episodes. Patience definitely isn’t one of my virtues :joy:. But I did discover all the Dr. Who episodes are currently on HBOMax so that’s helping me bide my time.

The Cardiff Dr Who Experience is gone?!! At least the Torchwood “entrance” is still there, I hope.

We were there just a year before you. Were you also lucky enough to visit when they weren’t filming?

I misspoke……just checked since you asked and there is a Dr. Who Experience now (there wasn’t one in 2018? because we were back visiting the UK then and it was closed) but it seems a bit more elaborate than what was there before. Good news! The studio wasn’t giving tours when we were there. I’m very envious!
