Any football players get asked to apply ED yet?

Wondering if any football players have been asked by a NESCAC or Ivy coach to apply ED?
And if so how was the request worded and how was it communicated to you??

Glad you asked because I’m curious too. My son is a rising Senior and we’re just coming off a crazy summer of recruiting madness. No coach has asked him directly to apply ED…but we’ve been to at least 3 or 4 prospect days where the head coach gave the stats of last years’ recruits to the efffect of 90%-95% ED applications.

Last year my son was asked in late July by two NESCAC schools to apply ED, and then two more by mid-August. The first two were done at Prospect Days where he was pulled aside for a private talk. But this does not mean you are late or out of luck. It unfolds at different timetables for different schools and players.

There is nothing wrong with your son calling a coach and asking directly where he stands. Asking directly is okay: “Are you interested enough in me as a student-athlete to support me for admission?” Their answer will give you a good idea on where you stand.

Has your son submitted his transcript and SATs for a pre-read? If so, there should have been feedback on where he fell in the “slot” system the NESCAC uses (for football at least).
