Any good college recommendation for me?

Hey guys, I'm currently in grade 11 in China, and I'm gonna apply to universities in US.

I'm interested in studying Engineering or Applied Maths in US, and here is my brief status:

TOEFL 108=28 reading, 26 listening, 26 Oral, 28 writing;
SAT 2040 = Reading 590, Verbal 650, Maths 800;
AP 7 subjects taken but scores not known yet. I'm confident to get 55 and 24;
Many city-level and some country-level competitions in Maths, Physics and Chemistry;
Average score about 85 out of 100.

Could you please give me some recommendations of my university in the US?

BTW, in which aspect should I improve if I am to get into schools like CIT or MIT?

I’m afraid your CR and W scores may be too low for CalTech and MIT. Most students at these schools score above 700 on each of these (as well as 750-800 on the Math). The expectations may be a little lower for Internationals (non-native speakers) but you face extremely heavy competition from other Asian students.

I recommend you consider small colleges that may be less well-known to International students. The best for engineering include Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, Harvey Mudd College, and Bucknell University.

Another good school you may not know about is Case Western Reserve University.

Caltech and MIT would also expect, in addition to higher scores, some major achievements on your extracurriculars. Perhaps you have them and didn’t mention them, but it takes more than top grades and test scores to get into the top engineering schools.
