Any graduates with a BA in child adolescent development

What kind of jobs were you able to get after graduation? What kind of high paying jobs can I get with just a B.A. In this major? I’m looking into careers but I don’t know what I want to do except work with little kids.

Unfortunately, a bachelor’s degree in child development doesn’t usually lead to a “high paying” career. The field can be very rewarding, but high pay isn’t likely synonymous in the child development field. Some jobs are with child and youth services, community based mental health, child life specialist in the health care setting and I’m sure many more. But few have substantial salaries attached.

Child/adolescent development is essentially a concentrated psychology degree, probably with some other social science and education coursework thrown in.

You can theoretically get a higher-paying job but it will likely be outside of child development - or it’ll be later in your career. The majority of new college grads don’t make a whole lot of money; your salary will grow gradually as you gain experience.

Gain experience but dont expect a fancy job. I would suggest going to grad school when/if you can; you can be a clinical or school counselor. Both are pretty stable jobs with decent pay (I think school counselors make ~$70k? Not sure).

One of the biggest things I learned from psych degrees is that you will probably need graduate school as well to get a higher paying job (if thats what you want).

Just my personal experience tho
