Any help or tips to increase 50 points on CR?

<p>I am a senior who is going to take Jan. SAT.
My goal is to get 550 on CR. My highest CR score was 500.
That means, I have to increase 50 points.
Any crash courses that help me to increase 50 points?</p>

<p>a lot of vocab - princeton review list is pretty good. just practice the blue book tests over, they tend to repeat the same kind of questions so you get used to the type of answer theyre looking for.</p>

<p>I would suggest omitting questions where you can't narrow down the answers or cross any out so you don't lose points. Other than that, practice is really helpful, as well as timing yourself.</p>

<p>How about from 650 to 700 or above? I memorized tons of words already. I did Word Smart I & II, Sparknotes 1000, Kaplan's etc, etc, etc. I think I have some problems with passages.</p>

<p>To conquer passages, practice doing them and going over your mistakes.</p>

<p>Well, for the passages, practice, practice, practice! Ignore, the time limit when practicing if you want to and just aim for accuracy. Get familiar with them, and the more you get accustomed with them, the more comfortable you'll be with them come test time. It helped my score boost up from a measly 580 to a decent 650.</p>

<p>Easiest way to raise your score is vocab - passages are much more difficult to improve on.</p>

<p>I disagree, vocab is highly unpredictable. You can memorize thousands of words and miss a ton of SC's. Practice doing passages and get the hang of them, you'll score consistently if you find a method that works best for you. Once you're confident on passages, then work on filling in the scores through sentence completions.</p>

Well,, you know what, I am adopted to America in the year of 2003. So, I have not memorized tons of vocabularies like you guys. However, I will work on vocabs also and as well as passage readings!
I totally agree with decreasing number of questions that I guess. Omitting questions are very important for me, especially in this case....
50 points will give an once in a life time OPPORTUNITY!!!</p>
