any help would be appreciated

I am a junior right now, here is the list of schools I am interested in, in no particular order.

Wake Forest
George Washington
Georgetown
UVA
NYU
Vanderbilt

SAT's: Math:700 Critical Reading: 750 Writing: 630 (Don't know how that happened, I will take it again and certainly do better. My essay was very good. I must have messed up on the MC)

EC's: will be my 4th year as a member of Youth and Government, will be 2nd year as a Varsity Volleyball player, 1 year of freshman basketball freshman year, will be 2 years as a member of the German Club (secretary this year) 50+ hours of community service, including 2 years volunteering as a page at the Richmond Forum. That is all I can think of right now. I really wish these were better, but I think they might be good enough

GPA: 3.6 unweighted

Course difficulty: hardest available

Last year took one AP class (U.S. History), this year I am taking 4 (including AP Calculus)

SAT II: U.S. History: 710

Unfortunately it was not reflected on my SAT's, but I am a very good writer, and I am confident that I will do well writing my essays. Not sure about my letters of recommendation. I think they will be good, but I have not been the hardest worker over the last 3 years, and have not lived up to my full potential (not to say that I am lazy, I just do not focus all my attention on my schoolwork). I have pretty much turned it on this year though.

Also, I interned for one week as required by my school at the local newspaper, so I have work experience. I will also be getting a job this summer.

If I left something important out, just say so.

I appreciate any info you all can provide.

Edit: One more thing I forgot, I finished all the possible classes for the language I was taking my sophomore year, and I couldn't fit any first year classes in other languages this year, so I am not taking a language this year. Will this hurt my chances at any of these schools?

bump to the top
