Any ideas for smart ways to study AP Calculus AB and get a 5?

Effective study, tips & tricks…

Also what are the prerequisite lessons ((with names)) to start the course???

*I’m homeschooled…!

Not sure if learning the material contained in 3 AP courses in less than 2 months is a good idea.

Obviously, you will need a solid background in high school algebra, trig, and precalculus. If you are struggling in, say, trig and logarithmic functions, then you will have a much harder time in calculus.

I would focus on studying the FRQs if you have time. AP Calc FRQs don’t change by much from year to year. I would study past years’ FRQs.

^except one should definitely learn the material first. Attempting FRQs without any understanding of what a derivative is is useless.

There is a free prep course on Coursera called “Preparing for the AP Calculus AB (and BC) Exams” by the University of Houston if anyone is interested. The course just started yesterday and will go on for 8 weeks until exam week.
There is a discussion forum w/ other participants in the course as well!

Go to Coursera dot org and type in this extension in the html: /course/apcalc
