Any info on Seoul National uni?? PLEASEE

Okay Kim1g428. Yes that is true. Are you a native Korean?
but everyone has his or her own hardship. It may have been studying like hell for native Koreans. it may have been adjusting to new cultures or growing up in some other countries for 12yun students.
12yun special admission does still exist even though many abroad students lack academically compared to native Koreans because colleges value their international perspective and the experiences they had living abroad.
College admission is not only about academics and sometimes experiences overseas can be even more valuable than being able to solve Calculus questions.

@banglaji
This is true, college admission is not only about academics. But think about the current Korean educational system. Do you really think that that kind of an ideal notion would be accepted by the general Korean society? Perhaps the Korean society is not ready to implement that kind of an admissions process, which is used commonly in the States.

Yeah I’m SNU 12 year. I got accepted last fall for business but chose not to attend.

kim1g428

What were your grades like? Do you think I have a good shot at getting in SNU?

@banglaji: By the way, do you know what kind of questions SNU asked your friend during the interview?

I wish I could speak to them using instant messaging. This is getting a bit too slow.

I would check out dcinside + gohackers

I haven’t read this thread to its entirety but does anybody here know what it takes for a 12 year student to get into Seoul National University as a pre-med?

 1. SAT
 2. AP (if applicable)
 3. IB Scores (if applicable)
 4. Awards
 5. Summer Internships

I’m really worried because I heard that as 12 year students to any other field we will have an easier time getting in. However, as a pre-med we are at a disadvantage.

Also, I am weighing my options applying as a Duke Pre-med or a SNU Pre-med. Please let me know :slight_smile: Thank you. And Please when commenting on this last part… I really do not care about the money aspect like older people-younger people relationship thing. I want admission chances-related answers. Thank you :)

So, I guess SNU is looking for someone who has high academic scores and good extracurricular activities? I’m a 12 year student as well. Is anyone applying for other unis in Korea? Just in case. I know Yonsei is “easy” to get into, but it’s EXPENSIVE tuition. Does anyone have any information about other universities in Korea that accept 12 year students and is low tuition?

Hey everyone,
So it’s after April 20th. Did any of you get accepted?

I got accepted into SNU as an electrical engineering major.

If you guys have questions specifically for me, PM me or leave comments.

@scarletcrush wow, congrats!! Sent a PM :]

I got in for Pre-Med, but I’m not sure if I’m going to go because I also got into a HYP. I’m not sure if I can relearn enough korean to study at SNU. Can someone attest to their experience as a foreign student at SNU?

@ kebalken: Is there a reason why you are considering SNU over HYP?

Also, can anyone give me suggestions on where to go for college?

I got into both Georgia Institute of Technology and SNU. G Tech will cost me $40k compared to SNU’s $8k tuition. Going to G Tech will be a pretty heavy investment, only for an undergraduate degree.

My plan is to go to SNU for undergrad, and come back the USA for grad, which will grant me access/opportunities to work in both countries.

What do you guys think?

@ScarletCrush well, I can’t go to med school in the US because I am not a US citizen. So I thought that it would be nice to go to SNU for med.

For anyone needing more info, I have started a thread here: <a href=“Official Seoul National University Internationally Accepted Students - Applying to College - College Confidential Forums”>Official Seoul National University Internationally Accepted Students - Applying to College - College Confidential Forums;

@ScarletCrush I think it’s a bit late now, but I wanted to ask that you PM me if you get this message!
