from NJ considering West coast schools- any info on Uof Redlands? never really heard of it before but interested to know anything you can tell me. Thanks

Husband is from NJ, everyone we meet is from NJ, everyone on TV is from NJ, so join the rest of the people from the small state and come to California.

Son loves it. He is a music performance major but has a calculus and fresman seminar class. I think that Fiske guide is accurate in describing the school. The web site had avg gpa 3.5 and SAT 1000 something to 1100 something. I read on some web site that it is a place for rich parents to send their kids to be baby sat-maybe -I don't know. Son has met lots of nice people. They have been very generous with merit aid for students above their average. Has rolling admissions, but Dec 15 is deadline for merit/financial aid.

Redlands is east of the Claremont colleges. Son has been to LA several times already on school sponsered trips to museums etc. Mexico is not too far for students to visit. The music frat used a school Van to go to a TV taping. Giving back to the community is part of the school-son was very attracted to this. The only NJ city I can think of is Wauchung(sp?)-Redlands is similar in homes-nice and lots nicer. The crime is rather petty-rowdy students and pranks.

What I know about the programs is available on the web site. Check out the Johnston center if you want something very different. Son's audition was during their reunion-I thought we took a time machine to the 60's.

Others on CC are better informed with the academics.
