any International applicant aside from the US to Mcgill?

I applied to Mcgill as a international student for chemical engineering. Are there any other internationals applying here? If so, what are your stats and when can we expect to hear from them?

hey yup i'm from singapore and i applied to mcgill for fall 2005.. i'm really excited! applied for management, however i also have a keen interest in arts, so i might end up doing arts instead.. i'm under the british a level system and stats are:
english literature A
economics B
geography B
general paper A1
SAT 1: 1340 (although it's not required)
anyone know what are my chances?

From ppl ive known who applied last year, u can expect to hear from mcgill around feb/march..
Im a canadian citizen but living in pakistan, will i still be considered int'l student?

stats:
Olevels 4A 2B
AS 1 A 3B
ALevels predicted 4A
toefl 283..

ive sent all my documents, havnt got confirmation yet, been 2 weeks..

waiting sux!

tell me about it man.. and mcgill is not exactly known for it's administrative efficiency either... i just hope we can hear from as early as february..
which faculties are u guys applying to?

ive applied to the faculty of management..

like u mentioned in other thread that mcgills management is not as good as shuclich or ivey.. but mcgill does have a v. influential name.. ive also applied to , waterloo, UFT, mcmaster, western and shuclich

Regards

hey fin1928, I am also in Singapore. I applied for engineering and my basic stats are 3.5 GPA with 4 AP classes, 1370 SAT I, SAT II - 630 Biology, 640 Math IIC and 580 Writing....BTW I am also applying to University of Toronto and I am at the american school here.

does it help in getting into McGill if you're a French citizen?

hey cool i'm from raffles junior college here in singapore... i also applied to the university of toronto for their commerce program, as well as western, guelph, and ubc.. mcgill however remains my first choice cos of it's better name recognition.. also i wanted a big city school and from what i heard montreal is a diverse and exciting place to be!
you guys have any idea which rez is the best? i've heard good and bad things about new rez.. anyone know anything about it? or any of the other residences for that matter?

well im kinda confused abt rez as well since i dont have any first opinions on it..

also it is too early to worry abt rez right now.. when u visit in june/july i think at that time the decision should be made, after looking at the rooms n facilities and etc
wht do u say

I posted a long thing about residences somewhere else in this forum...haha, I can't remember. There isn't a "best" residence, I think, they all have their plusses and minusus. Depends what sort of person you are. You have to get your rez application in early June, so it's something to start thinking about anyway.

Found it! haha

4th post down

Happy New year

thanks harpgirl that really helps a lot!

as for me, i definitely wanna party when i get there, but not to an extent until i neglect my studies! so a rez which can be both rowdy and quiet at the same time would suit me the best.. haha i realise that there probably isn't such an ideal rez but from what u described douglas hall sounds pretty cool cos it's really tight-knit and all.. i still might consider new rez, the hefty price tag kinda deters me though..

oh and before i forget , does anyone know if it's possible to get a double degree? like for example i plan to get my bcom but at the same time i'm also interested in history which is in the arts faculty, so is it possible to get both a bcom and a ba at the same time? will the workload kill me if i do? i know in the states u can do so, cos my brother who's in umich is doing a double degree in engineering and music... pretty intense... and he still managed to graduate in 3 years.. i dunno if canadian schools are flexible about this kinda thing, if anyone in mcgill knows about this please share your knowledge=)

happy new year to everyone!

Divraj....Mcgill is one of the top schools in Canada and North America. Although University of Toronto and Waterloo are more known for engineering...Mcgill is pretty good too...and the reputation of Mcgill is definitely better than Toronto and Waterloo in general.,

Hey Duncanctc, I guess we'll be competitors, ur stats are definitely better than mine but hopefully we'll both get in.

Arseus - I think you will get in but dunno about scholarships.

anyone applying to shuclich school of business here?

hey i applied to the faculty of the arts and already got my answer online.. i got accepted.. im an international from morocco, applied for fall 2005 entry
