I am now on the hunt for any international students who got in to UCLA's econ or econ/international studies. I got rejected since I have 3.7 GPA :( but I'm not that sad since I have already set my mind to go to UIUC. My friend however was crushed since she has a 3.97 GPA and got rejected. After asking A LOT of people, none of the international students got accepted to econ so I'm a bit curious. Any takers?

What country are you from?

indonesia (10char)

chinese, not international thou.
i’m from long island

sygede: so you’re out of state? congratulation!!!

i think he means ‘international student status’

My friend got into biz econ and she’s an international student. She has a 4.0.

sygede: so you’re out of state? congratulation!!!
actually i came here like 2 year ago.

Econ’s so impacted that it’s not really a surprise a lot of qualified people didn’t get in this year. Even though the actual admission rate for internationals is similar to in-staters, that number really dwindles down for the real impacted majors.

is econ really impacted at UCLA, i remember reading somewhere that the avg gpa for UCLA econ was 3.46…thats not very high…

thats the average applicant gpa. The average admitted gpa is 3.82.

oh i see, thanks!

I’m Indonesian and I got accepted to Business Econ. One of my Indonesian friend was also accepted to Econ. We both have 4.0 GPA though.

It doesn’t matter what race you are. I think people totally misunderstood the OP… she’s asking if you have international status (i.e. not a permanent resident).

My friend got in UCLA, Econ. His GPA is around 3.7-3.8 (I’m not sure, but not 4.0) and yes, he’s international student

Uh me and my friend are both international students if that wasn’t clear enough o.O

Hey Cr3sc3nt!
Slo you are an undergraduate international student at UCLA? I just got accepted and I was wondering about fin aid. Do international students get any fin aid or scholarships? They have told me I am not eligible for 1st year but what about later on? Is it easy to get money? How much do they usually give you? Can internationals work on campus? Have you got any aid?
Please help me! I’m starting to get desperate (I have actually considered selling a kidney…jk)
Thanks!
