Since my sophomore missed his PSAT, does anyone know how he could take a SAT and avoid having it appear on the SAT scores transmitted to schools once he applies? We are trying to gage what schools might be appropriate to start researching.

All scores are sent.

But don't worry about having his scores listed in the future. I took the SAT's my freshman, sophomore, junior, and senior year and Princeton didn't seem to mind. On the score reports, it also lists what grade level you took the test in, and I seriously doubt any colleges would penalize someone for taking the SAT his sophomore year - even if the scores weren't that good.

You could have him take a few practice tests out of 10 Real SAT's, and do them with the time constraints of the real test. That should give you an idea of his score range.

Schwaby--thank you. I didn't know they listed the year taken. Great job on Princeton btw.

Thanks. Best of luck to you and your son.

dont use 10 reals because it is not the SAT he will take. Use the new 8 reals instead.

What's the 8 reals?

The newest edition of 10 Real SATs, containing eight practice tests for the new SAT.
