@MTxfrGRRL oh, well it’s still AMAZING that you got accepted!!! Very happy for you! I’m still waiting and I’m so nervous!
hey all- no news yet, but apparently PACE is holding their first accepted students day for PERFORMING ARTS MAJORS on APRIL 8th, so everyone will definitely know by then!!! (excluding alternates/waitlists- no guarantees there) Just thought I should calm some nerves.
No Stage Managers have heard anything yet, it’s gonna be a long week!
More calls for acceptances went out yesterday for a couple of boys.
My friend just got a wait list letter in the mail- not an alternate. What are the chances she’ll get accepted to the program???
@broadwaybaby are you sure they specifically say “alternate” and “wait list”? Never heard of a school doing that, just typically list accepted, wait list, and rejected. In other words, alternates are wait list. Have you heard of someone receiving an “alternate” letter? Thanks and BAL!
I’m curious about that too.
My D received a letter from Pace that said “alternate for admission”. Unsure as well.
Yes, it is my understanding that Pace has alternates and then the wait list. Alternates are usually the next in line for a specific offered student. If that student declines they go to the alternate. Alternates are first in line for spots, then wait list.
@Dadagogo yes, I’m sure it was a “waitlist” decision letter. Other people have received “alternate” letters.
@Dadagogo @broadwaybabyyy like stagedoormama said, Pace has acceptances, rejections, alternates, and waitlists. Alternates are like a first priority wait list, so if someone doesn’t accept their offer they will accept the alternate for that person. I believe first alternate as well as second alternate exist in many of the programs as well. They generally turn to alternates before the waitlist.
quick question, I haven’t heard back if I got into the school academically or not. I know I have to get accepted into the school first before they can send any results from my audition, however about 3 weeks ago they asked for my first semester grades. I called the school yesterday and they said my application is still being reviewed. I don’t quite understand why the academic acceptance is taking forever, I qualify for a merit scholarship. Does anyone know what this means or could mean?
@PacePerfArts I’m sure you are very busy right now with getting letters out. Not to take you away from that, but any chance you can provide an update on status of notifications? I know both kids and parents are anxious and posting asking others for statuses all over the place (CC, Facebook, etc.) because everyone knows acceptance calls have been made. No one is sure if all the acceptance calls are complete and whether they are just waiting for a rejection letter or wait list/alternate letter at this point if they haven’t gotten a phone call or received a letter yet. The other question that keeps coming up is whether an acceptance can come in a letter without a phone call being received or if all acceptances will be made by phone. Anything you can do to clear up the questions would be appreciated.
@theater1204 my kid (who is a delighted first year at Pace MT) was called March 25th last year–similar situation, had not yet gotten the academic all clear so was delayed in receiving the artistic okay. i know every situation is different, but thought I would share that with you!
Thank you so much!! I’m going nuts here! Lol
Hi all,
For students academically admitted ON or BEFORE March 16, 2016, all audition decision letters have been printed and have either landed in mailboxes or are on their way via USPS. This is slightly ahead of last year. Faculty heads do like to call those admitted to their programs and those are being made as letters go out on the faculty’s free time.
Thank you for taking the time to provide the update @PacePerfArts
Well, the Pace people are correct. My daughter got a letter. In the same letter it said she was not accepted for the BFA-MT and is wait listed for BA Acting-IPE.
@loveandcruises did she apply for the BA Acting program or does Pace just consider everyone for all their programs?
She auditioned for both BFA MT and for BA Acting-IPE. FYI, someone I know yesterday received a wait list for BFA Acting. So, yes, the letters have gone out.
