Still nothing here, but a “promise” for what that is worth that everyone would hear back by April 1st.
@PickALittle are you saying Hartt will let all know by April 1st? Did Hartt tell ou that?? for real?? That would be great!! thanks
Yes Hartt admissions told me all decisions by mail by Aprils 1st. Perhaps arrives a day or two later in your mail box due to mail delays. But everything is out by that date.
thank you!! @PickALittle
Good luck! Hope we have some potential classmates here!!!
Okay so we will have it by Monday?
well we certainly did not hear today so I am guessing it is a no but I could be wrong. which would be great.
@candymom @PickALittle I’m still waiting too! It better be there in the mail tomorrow! Lol
We got our decision on Friday. It was a no and my daughter is happily #Wagnerbound - theater performance class of 2020! Huge scholarship, great program, close to the city where she wants to live and work and we are soooooo happy to have this crazy process behind us. Best wishes to all still waiting!
Are they still sending out acceptances or should I expect a no when I get the letter?
@PickALittle just wondering. If your D had been accepted to Hartt, would she have chosen to go there over Wagner? And why? Mine is accepted at Hartt and waitlisted at Wagner (though received a call indicating that if she shows interest in Wagner she could get in). If she does get into Wagner, the decision might be a tough one. We are visiting both AGAIN this week and hope to gain some clarity.
@Murrrrb if she had gotten into Hartt she still would have gone to Wagner. She had decided to commit to Wagner before the Hartt letter arrived (we were really just waiting for the letter to finally be able to say we had heard back from all schools). There are a few reasons why she was comfortable deciding before she knew. One of the biggest was likely the campus experience at Hartt - it wasn’t what she was looking for in terms of location and “feel.” She likes that Wager offers a “BFA-like” BA program - because she wants the opportunity to take classes outside her major and minor in another interest area. At Wagner she believes (as do her parents) that she will get great training (very good MT reputation despite being a “Theater Performance” program) and master class experiences (being so close to NYC they get lots of visitors). Plus she is excited to be so close to NYC as it will allow her to take classes in NYC (which she has done a couple times a year for the last four years), see shows, see friends who are already living and working in the city and friends who will be going to college nearby, etc. When I started this process there was much I didn’t know and understand (and frankly much that I still don’t). But, I have heard many people say that the kids usually land in the right place. I feel confident that is the case for my D. I wish you the best in your decision. If your D does end up at Wagner let me know. I am looking forward to connecting with other Wagner TP parents as we kick off this next step in our childrens’ journey!
@musicalkid98 - I am not sure. If you haven’t heard anything by end of day Monday, I would call on Tuesday.
@PickALittle thanks! My D did SMTI at Wagner last summer and loves the school. We also know kids there and they LOVE it. Great school, great location, great program. Mine also felt that a conservatory was not for her, but Hartt has some interesting bonuses (including a deaf community … She is very interested in pursuing sign language as well as MT). We shall see what happens after her visit and if she’s ultimately accepted it’s going to be a tough choice! I’ll let you know if she ends up at Wagner for sure!
I hope we all hear today
Good Luck Destiny. I think there was an accepted student day yesterday at Hartt and It had seemed like all the kids were accepted so indeed we did get the final rejection the other day. the letter was so poorly worded. hope you have better luck!
Oh just kidding. I probably was rejected. I’m sorry the letter was weirdly worded
I’m on the BFA MT waiting list! My letter just arrived.
