@KelviVan you should have already heard from Montclair. We heard about 3 weeks after Moonifieds.
Nothing in the mail here today except for the last academic admit! Luckily D has other things here to keep her attention…wish I did LOL!! :-SS
We received a letter from Montclair saying they were “highly interested” and telling her to apply, but nothing after that. I called a week or two ago and they said results were going out within a few weeks… Maybe we should check in again.
@KelviVan My D was in the same boat (auditioned at Moonifieds and got the “highly interested” email, followed by months of silence…). She contacted Montclair this past Friday and they said they will check why she hasn’t heard yet and will get back to her on Monday (today). However, her rejection letter arrived the next day (Saturday afternoon). A friend of D who was is the exact same boat got the rejection letter on Friday. So it looks like letters are on the way. Hopefully yours will contain better news then ours did!
Is anyone willing to answer a few questions about Moonifieds and your experience with hiring a college audition coach? I’d love to get some feedback from people who have worked with Mary Anna.
@TXMTMama I would love to share our experience. Send me a private message.
My d just got home and told me she got a rejection letter from Texas Tech. Sigh
Sorry email not letter from Texas Tech.
Texas Tech is only accepting 6?? Wow!
@momma2a I know! The director of the program said that they were in the position to be able to keep the class size small to focus on quality training. Whatever that means, lol.
@mommadrama76 - From what I understand, Tech is throwing money at the new BFA w/the intent to create a highly competitive/well-regarded program - I think they realize they’ve missed the boat by coming so late to the BFA MT game, so they don’t want to give off the impression that they’ll take anyone who auditions. They already have strong vocal performance & dance programs, so they probably want to make sure the MT BFA offers significant performance opportunities to the individuals who end up in the program based on strong personal attention. My D did not audition for Tech b/c she wanted to get out of town, but many of her very talented friends did last year (all of them ended up going elsewhere). No word on whether any of the friends who’ve auditioned this year got in or not. This has certainly been interesting to watch, though.
That is a shame since there is so much talented Texas kids. Oh well!
D got a letter from University of Arizona. It is a redirect to the BA Theatre Studies program.
