I like the way that federernadal thinks :D.

If you guys really want to help the country, you should not move back to one of the cities, instead you guys should go to the villages in states like Bihar, UP, West Bengal, the North East, etc where the quality of life is the worst. These are the places that need the most help. High paying jobs in cities have many, many qualified applicants each of whom can do those jobs very, very well. In the villages, you could open a school or a hospital or work with an NGO. That is true patriotism in my opinion, using your knowledge to help those who need it the most.

The better the education we get, the better it is for the country. I think the majority of us are not satisfied the way our country is run, but there’s no reason to think that we are going to like everything that goes on in the U.S. and it’s getting harder to get even a green card; who knows how we’ll end up in the future?

My palette is too precious. I don’t live where there is no spicy food.

But seriously, after living a year in the US, I can say that I really really don’t want to settle there. Maybe I’ll work for a year or two but there’s no way I’m spending the rest of my life there.

anirudh: “”“Mera Bharat Mahaan” is like saying that Purdue University is the best ever. Obviously, there are better universities out there. I hope you understand what I’m getting at with this analogy."
That’s the right way to look at it. But the TRUE patriot looks like this: Purdue IS the best ever. Heck, even I LOVE my university. I won’t give it up for MIT. I know rankings beg to differ, but I don’t care. I LOVE it. And please, I’m not challenging anyone’s love for India. I just can’t seem to understand why you guys want to dent your bank account to go to a place you eventually want to leave.

Best of both worlds for YOU to become successful. A patriot gives his life for his country, but here you are…talking about YOU. Wait, you’re just like me. I’m all about ME too. But I accept it. Don’t get personal. We don’t even know each other. This is not a diatribe towards anyone. I just want you guys to convince me why you want to come back.

I will come back if the Great Depression continues in america…
Not outta choice…

Oh and please don’t kid yourself, its all about ourselves at the end of the day. We aint doing anything for anyone. :)

Great Depression? ROFL. Man look up the business cycle. A slump is succeeded by a boom that was greater than the last time. Whatever happened in 2008, will be followed by a brighter future. And thats already happening. People at goldman sachs are getting record bonuses.

Not for ‘anyone’, but for the country. Some do. I have seen that myself. Google Sandeep Unnikrishan.

You don’t seem to have facts and I seem to be wasting my time.

I kinda exaggerated that part, but yeah America is still in an economic slump. Check up on the unemployment rates, etc. You’ll understand what I’m trying to talk about.

Google Tukaram Omble as well.

I do have my facts right. I really didn’t say anything wrong

Ok. Since you mentioned “unemployment rates” in specific. Heres what you do: [The United States Unemployment Rate](http://www.miseryindex.us/urbymonth.asp)

Now move downwards on from the page. Slowly. You’ll see a periodic looking trend. Now go to 2009. Late 2009 had a locally longest bar.

Do you see it reducing as you scroll down?

Through the past trends do you expect it to reduce further?

Here’s what is happening graphically.

http://www.thebluecollarinvestor.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2008/11/business-cycle-graph-better.jpg

So there again. It comes down to your facts.

current recession is unlike anything we have seen in the past 50 years.
during the previous few recessions mainly blue collar jobs were affected. regan, clinton and bush have successfully eradicated the manufacturing base and the county is living off of money borrowed from china. current situation looks very scary. to think otherwise is foolish.

Oh Ok, you said it. I believed it. That’s what you want? Happy? Hooray. [yawn].

Seriously, I can’t believe how the media is just brainwashing folks today. A couple of headlines here and there…and you fall for it. How about reading the article as well once in a while and not just the headlines?

I was reading something the other day that I want to oblige you with. It took me a while to search for it. So read it. I would expect some correlation but I guess I’m too foolish. Why don’t you decide?

[Chinese currency announcement has little impact on US markets - CSMonitor.com](Chinese currency announcement has little impact on US markets - CSMonitor.com)

And my oh my, being called ‘foolish’ at the end of one of the most baseless comments I’ve seen in a while made me feel good.

i m glad i made u feel good. stay that way.

Lol let’s not sidetrack. The whole point of the thread was if you Indian students would return again to India, in hopes of contributing to its rise. And possibly, what you’d do to contribute that rise exactly.

But yeah, recession or Great Depression… w/e

Wow what a comeback. Now we both know who the foolish one is, and it’s not me. Did you manage to surprise me and reach the bottom of the article?

I’m not the one who is sidetracking. I’m just getting busy obliging and trying to open the eyes of the people around. I’m contributing.

federernadal: Your condescending attitude is irritating. If you can’t argue with grace, then ■■■■.

Cut it out guys, whether or not you guys think it’s a recession or Great Depression or something doesn’t matter.

If you have something relevant to say about studying in the US and then returning to in any way contribute to you’re country, then please, go ahead.

I would hate to report abuse those of you arguing amongst each other.

Seriously.

Please don’t challenge the accuracy of someone’s facts.

Lastly, I would want to add that for every $1 of the American economy, 43cents is in debt.

I think what Aniruddh brought up made perfect sense for this thread. I think those of us who have read his posts on India threads before understood what he meant by great depression.

Can I ask why you would point this out in a thread talking about “best-of-both-worlds”?

No thats because he was he was going on and on about America not going through deep ****.

To top it off, Americ doesnt export anything, hence their dented economy.

Thanks for agreeing with me, tippu! :-D
