Hello.
My name is Mehrdad. I'm 16 years old from Iran and I'm finishing my high school in two years. When I read about MIT in the websites, I got really interested in MIT university and it became one of my dreams to study in MIT. I just wanted to know that if there is a chance for me to apply for MIT? If there is What books should I read? What tests should I give? I read in somewhere that MIT helps to the poor students, So will MIT give scholarship if I apply?

Can any one help me please?

Yes. Students apply (and get in) to MIT from all over the world. Indeed there are six MIT Educational Councillors (alumni interviewers) in Iran this year. MIT is need-blind from an admissions standpoint. They will not know or care about your personal financial circumstances when making an admissions decision. MIT also promises to meet the full financial need of all of its admitted students for four years (though they will analyse the family’s circumstances to determine what that need is, not you). So if you get in, and need the money, then yes, MIT will make financial aid available. As to the rest, that is largely up to you. Most of the information you need will be found on [MIT Admissions](http://www.mitadmissions.org) under the section labelled “Apply”. Focus on the “How to prepare for MIT” and on the match between you and MIT in the “process” section. Good luck.

Six MIT interviewers in Iran?? WOW!
I’m so happy about that. I’m so looking forward to the interview!
I didn’t even know there were other people from Iran applying to MIT for UNDERGRADUATE studies!

And Mehrdad, I’m applying to MIT this year, if you have any questions feel free to message me.

Mehrdad, one idea is that you could take a free online MIT course on edX. If you did well, I think it would really impress the admissions committee. There was one Mongolian student who did really well on MIT edX courses and he was admitted to MIT. There was an article in the national newspaper (New York Times) about him.

If you don’t know what edX class to take, I would try either 6.00.1x: Introduction to Computer Science or 6.002x: Circuits and Electronics, which just started this week.
