Any other girls think Alan Rickman is extremely attractive?

I know this is an odd topic but I am among that weird but unnaturally large group of girls who swoon over Alan Rickman. I have found that most girls walked out of HP and the Sorcerer's Stone, and each consecutive movie, thinking, "Who is that Prof. Snape?"

It's so odd how many are out there. He has like more fan pages than Brad Pitt. There is this dreamy mystical kind of thing about him that makes him incredibly desirable regardless of his now 60 years of age. It's crazy but he doesn't look it! And it helps to see him in the black wig as Snape.

Of particular note is the shot of him standing over Barty Crouch Jr. recently in Goblet of Fire at the very end where he is holding his wand to him. The way the upward close-up had him leering at Crouch was enough to make me shiver. It was the look on his face, just the way it was framed, his black costume, the dreary black/blue lighting . . . it all conspired to make him look younger and so good. Or as some girls put it on his fan sites, "yummy."

In fact, if you picture him in costume as Snape, but only in the buttoned coat and pants, not with the heavy billowy cloak, that costume makes him look so good. It must be the fact that he is the so-called "bad boy" of the series. He takes the greasy, cunning, sallow-faced Snape of the books and makes him a dream visitor of women's minds at night. And DO NOT get me started on his voice: chocolate velvet, that is how I describe it.

I mean, anybody remember him as Hans Gruber? Oh golly he looked so wonderful in that. The prim, pricey suit, the cunning wit and intelligence. He was so enticing. And then his performane in Rasputin---if the ORIGINAL Rasputin, with his creepy, skin-crawling eyes made you want to run and stay clear of him, RICKMAN'S version of the mad monk made you want to get close and never leave his side. And again, more wit in Dogma with the excellent side burns and fearless ability to drop trow on camera for the sake of a hearty laugh.

And the mother of all to-die-for moments in his career, Colonel Brandon in Sense and Sensibility. Who wouldn't want to have a love-starved man with Rickman's voice and his gorgeous amber eyes doing anything to earn your love in return? And the way he spoke so quietly--complete iconographic gentleman; all men should strive to be like Rickman's Col. Brandon.

And then we come to Awfully Big Adventure: the movie that any young girl who fancies him would enjoy. Imagine: physically he looked great for being 47 or thereabouts; he spent the whole movie looking anguished, which only made him adorable; he can dance; he wears his sleeves too long, knows it, and therefore he looks cute in his clothing; he plays Captain Hook in the movie for a time; and there is an interesting few scenes with the lead actress (who is supposed to be 16 but was played by a 21 year old) where they, "hook up," at his flat. Come to find out, he "hooked up" a few times, with his biological daughter that he never knew he had. Entirely traumatizing to him that he ends up nearly fainting, slips off a dock, hits his head and drowns. But again, the scenes where he's "in bed" are rather "yummy" as some have put it. It's a good movie despite the taboo incest subject. It's British, so you need an open mind.

Again, did I mention his voice is like chocolate velvet? I don't know, post all you want about it. I'll bet there's a few girls on CC who are oddly taken by him too. Don't even get me started on what he is like as a normal person. He is extremely intelligent and wise, is a Pisces like me, so bonus points for being a perfectionist yet lazy, a dreamy dreamer. And he seems to be riotously funny and extremely sweet and cute in a shy, adorable way. You should have seen his appearance on The View from a few years back. Adorable.

Post away girls!

That is an incredibly long and disturbing analysis. Please don't tell you wrote it yourself...

I'm a guy though. All I can say is that he's a good actor.

Yes, I type fast and I type a lot, so it wasn't difficult. And believe me, i'm not alone.

Umm...did you say he's 60? My attention span isn't long enough to read the whole analysis, but I think within the first couple paragraphs you mentioned he's 60 YEARS OLD! I don't know, crushes on old guys just creep me out...

i think i read the first paragraph....

was he the voice in dogma? dogma was a good movie.

He was Metatron in Dogma. Of the highest choir of angels. The one that likes tequilla but can't actually drink it. He's the best-dressed in the movie too.

I know, it's disturbing to like a 60 year old man (he just turned it two days ago though), but I don't have a crush or like him that way. It's just strange how he has this attraction factor. And he's a darn fine actor; brilliant in fact. Everybody watch out for Snow Cake and Perfume: Story of a Murderer later this year!

I don't think it's necessary to post the same message in three boards.

I have been fully aware that he is 60 years old and that has never once disturbed me.

Sense and Sensibility, anyone? How cute he looks in his riding coat and hat? How you just want to slap Marianne (Kate Winslet) across the face for even thinking that Willoughby is cuter than he is?

Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves. He stole the whole show from right under Kevin Costner's California accent. He was so awesome. "AND CANCEL CHRISTMAS!"

I think he is incredibly hot and incredibly talented. But I have weird taste in men.

EDIT: I thought I was one of the few people ALIVE to have seen An Awfully Big Adventure! I loved that motorcycle! That was awesome!

You know what? I think Simon Cowell is good-looking. and i'm pretty sure i'm the only one....

haha, nope ilovemath...I have a secret crush on him too ;)

repost . . . . . . . . . <a href="http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=150619%5B/url%5D">http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=150619</a></p>

but you knew that already didn't you? :O

i think Ralph Fiennes is attractive.

Both Alan Rickman and Ralph Fiennes are attractive in my opinion. Rickman's got the hotter voice, Fiennes has the better face. Young Tom Riddle--played by Christian Coulson, I believe--was quite a dish also.

First, I OWN Awfully Big Adventure on DVD. The scenes between he and Stella are stellar. Lol. I love the way he makes her dance with him and also his attitude towards Hugh Grant and the way he plays Hook!

As for Ralph Fiennes, I don't much like his teeth; they're so small, they bother me. He looks good in some movies, others, not so much. Too skinny for me. I thought he looked great in Maid In Manhattan though. Alan Rickman has that pained look, the wise look. There is life in his face, which is oddly attractive. In some movies he looks his age (Harry Potter 3 and Something the Lord Made) but other times he looks very "fresh" I guess you could say. For example, he was recently seen in Berlin for the premiere of Snow Cake and looked in better physical shape than he was for PoA. And while his role in Perfume: Story of a Murderer has him wearing period dress and a very grey-colored wig, making him look older than he should, he nevertheless looks great when he plays Snape. Particularly the potions closet scene and my favorite, when he leers at Barty Crouch and you get that close-up of his face.

Alan Rickman is amazing. Somehow I got lured into the cult. I understand completely.

Personally, I think I'm more attracted to the persona he usually plays in movies, versus him as a person.

You should read some fanfic with Snape in it-- I'm sure you would love it to death. (I would suggest you look for a Snape/Hermoine pairing.)

Snape and Hermione?! That's BEYOND absurd!

And I thought Tonks/Lupin was bizarre.

Ugh... Snape is like 30 years older than Hermione.

I can't imagine him being romantically linked to anyone...

My ex thought Woody Allen was attractive, so I'd say the OP's Allen makes her more normal than my ex! LOL Seriously, I think Allen Rickman is a very elegant actor. He has excellent screen presence and an impressive voice/accent. But I am a man, so I won't be able to share the OP's "swooning" over that British actor! hehe

hermoine gets hotter every movie...

yeah i know this thread says girls, but i couldnt resist.

Cedric Diggory (Robert Pattinson) was pretty hot in goblet of fire. Too bad he died.
