So, I took pre ap pre cal my senior year in high school, and I’m attending Collin college for a year and transfering with 30+ credits to complete my 3 remaining years at OSU. The college is saying that I have to take a semester of precal again for no apparent reason, and i was expecting to be put in Calculus 1. Im majoring in computer science, and my degree plan at OSU says i need to have Calculus 1, and Calculus 2 done by the end of freshman year. I had straight B averages when I was in precal, and I had a high SAT score as well, and I have to ridiculously take pre-cal my first semester of college. Is anyone else doing computer science or engineering/math or any science major requiring calculus in this same position? They said I could take business calculus, but I opted out as thats not in my degree plan, and Im not majoring in Business, or Finance. Im thinking after I take Calc. 1 in the spring semester, that I should take Calc. 2 in the summer. Is this a good idea? Id try and study for the Calc. 1 CLEP, but thats a risky option. id be spending $80 and I most likely wont pass by studying it by myself, so I’m thinking of the summer route. And also, how hard is college precal? is it harder than high school precal? Just wanted to hear if I’m not the only one
