I know we aren't even done with this years drama and here I am gearing up for the next round!

My middle S has decided that he too will go the BS route and my question is this. Do the schools factor in the amount you are already paying for your first kid in BS when computing the FA need amount? The first child's FA need was just over 50% by the way. I would think all things remaining the same the next kid should be a full FA ride or there about but maybe I am delusional?

Anybody out there have any experience with this?

Thanks.

Scotland, I am no authority but I understand that the financial aid process takes account of all your obligations, including tuition for siblings, as your award is determined. I am sure others will be more helpful than I am in this area. I followed your story with some interest. Where will your son attend?

We too have two kids going to bs. My first son went last year and sparked the interest in his little sister. He was fp last year and we applied for aid this year. We were surprised to receive FA for him, about 25% of his tuition. His sister received more, but only after an appeal. They are going to different schools.
Btw, we only appealed his sister’s and based it on information that was inaccurate at the time of filing the PFS. (We estimated our 2008 salary too high).

Good luck.

zp

Our two oldest both begin BS this fall (we have 2 younger ones as well). We received about 70% aid for one child and about 40% for the other.

Klements, are they at the same school?

We will have 3 hefty tuitions this coming year. Initially we were told we dont qualify, but then were told that BS are more understanding than colleges. Too late this year.

I have two kids getting aid at two schools. One is boarding and one is not. Since the SSS forms ask for info for each child, my assumption is that it is taken under consideration by both schools.

Both my daughters received 50% FA for this fall (9th grade)

I have two kids at Boarding School – both on FA. Schools did take into account cost of attendance at the siblings school.

No, our 2 BS kids will be at different schools.
