BrookeDavis - Scholarship e-mails should come out in a few weeks and financial aid will be updated in WaveNet a few days/weeks after.

tenorforlife - It’s a running joke that 1 out of 3 guys at Pep are gay. Honestly, I think it’s an accurate ratio. I have plenty of gay friends here and they are generally accepted. Some people who are uncomfortable with it just ignore it completely. I haven’t noticed any outright homophobia on campus. There are even gay guys in frats. However, due to the university’s religious affiliation, no gay community/alliance has been officially allowed on campus.

Are there really a lot of gay guys at Pepperdine? I’m not homophobic or anything, but I am definitely not comfortable with it. Especially being from the south, you don’t see much of that here. So how many gay guys do you actually think go to Pepp.?

They definitely have a presence on campus.

In this day and age, I would imagine that gays have a presence in most college campuses. Nothing different at Pepperdine.

@Johnadams12, I was thinking the same thing. Other colleges I have visited around here
(in the south) had a presence of gay people too. So I guess it is everywhere. I do expect more in California than in Arkansas.

My application status changed from complete to admitted and my to-do list got like six new things, but I didn’t get an email from them saying they accepted me. What does this mean??

It means you got accepted! U might get the email later.

dylman - lots and lots lol.

andy - ahaha ily <3

SupremeFries - It means you got accepted, but you should call Admissions and ask why you didn’t receive an e-mail.

I just checked my Wavenet and all of these were already on my to do list

Enrollment Form
Tuition Prepayment
10-11 Dependent Verif Wksht
2009 Parent Income Tax Return
2009 Parent’s W-2s
2009 Student’s W-2

But today, I noticed a new one appeared.

Associated Women of Pepperdine

Does this mean I got a scholarship? If so, is there a set one this group always gives?

So happy to be accepted!!! Now I just am really hoping to get scholarship money. HOpefully my chances aren’t less since I will be a transfer. Does anyone know if that will hurt my chances?

dylman - Yes! That is a scholarship offered. I think it’s for a few thousand dollars. You’ll have to write a thank you letter (that’s why it’s in your to-do).

tcobb91 - No, it should not hurt your chances. Congratulations.

Thanks gwu_girl. I am praying that God will provide because I know he will if that is where I am suppose to be. The financial aid and scholarships could not come fast enough.

How generous is pepperdine with students who need a lot of financial aid?

MedalLily - Very generous. I’m in that boat, and they meet nearly all my need. You’ll have to be patient though, I can’t give you estimates.

Haha, so Gwu girl i know you’ll find this creepy…but I totally remember you from last year when we were applying to colleges! lol. That’s so cool that you ended up at Pepperdine. I’m jealous…I wanted to go there, but i received a full ride somewhere else and pepp only gave 1/2 tuition.

How are you liking pepperdine?? Everything you hoped it would be?

Ksp791 - Haha! Aw, I’m sorry Where are you going?
I love Pepperdine. It’s just where I was meant to be. It’s actually a lot more diverse than I thought it would be, and study abroad next Spring is becoming very real and not just a brochure.

Exciting! I’m at Ithaca College in New York (originally from CA…so kinda far away). I really like it here, but I still sometimes wish I had ended up at Pepperdine.
Same here! I’m going to either Singapore or London next spring…I’m pretty excited.
