lol I have a bit of a different question -
I’ve been playing the violin for a while (since about 5th grade as well, actually) and I’m pretty good but not a super competitive player (I’ve had private lessons since 5th grade, but very little theory and only school symphonic orchestra, though we played some difficult pieces - I was among the good players at a school with really good state level musicians). However, I’m interested in joining some sort of an orchestra or ensemble at cornell to continue playing the violin. I’m assuming the CSO is extremely competitive and thus probably not for me… any tips?

hi, sorry to double post… but can anyone answer this? I’m really dying to know whether I’d be able to continue violin/orchestra…

Can my 5 years of Latin or a 5 on AP music theory help me out with the 6 required liberal studies classes for engineers? Do the have a Latin CASE?

hey seuferk could you chance me? i want to go to cornell engineering school

How hard is chemical engineering in COE compared to say, chemistry in CAS? Is transferring into ChemE difficult? Thanks in advance.

They are completely different programs that teach you different things.

Transferring into Engineering is hard overall, and fulfilling all of the ChemE requirements if you did not start out in Engineering is going to be hard.

Would it be possible, then, to major in chemistry CAS and minor in ChemE COE?

Hi! I heard there are language houses (like, dorms where you speak a certain language).

I’m not a native French speaker, but I would like to be able to practice my French while I’m in college (without having to take French classes), and immersion by being in one of those language houses is the best.

How hard is it for someoen to be able to reside there instead of a typical dorm?

Yes, that would be impossible. the ChemE minor is only available to students in engineering.

@ansar - if you choose the language house on your housing preferences, you will more than likely gett it.
