I have a friend who is from a very low-income family but doesn’t have an EFC of 0. Just wondering, you don’t have to answer if you don’t want, but how low does your income have to be to get an EFC of 0?

@shoot4moon Percentage-wise, no idea. I just don’t even know what that percentage looks like in the average college or the US or what have you. But there’s definitely a strong, well-supported LGBTQ community, though I feel like I know more out gay men than out lesbian women or out bisexuals. The Capitol Hill neighborhood around the school is sort of the city’s hub for LGBTQ activism and social spaces.

side note: looove pike place chowder! i went there on my first visit too. :)

ilikeUW, between my mother an I, we made around $17,000. She filed an 1040EZ form, which I think pushes you further into the 0 EFC bracket. I’m not sure what the cutoff is, I was actually trying to figure it out at some point! There’s some site out there through the FAFSA’s website that shows you the forms and allowances but I didn’t care enough to try to make sense of it.

Yeah, uh, we’re broke, lol. All the time.

Thank you Shifty Eyes. And good for you speakingez for the hustle you are showing to research and manage college apps. I bet you have a lot on your plate.

Thanks, shoot4moon, that means a lot to me right now.

On a side, suddenly, SU’s reported admission rate has jumped to 71% on collegeboard.com! I could have sworn it was in the 50-60’s last week, it must have just been updated. . . . That really gets my hopes up, to be honest. I hope that doesn’t jinx me.

^
Nice catch. It was definitely 66% percent before the update. This 71% is probably for the fall of 2010 applicants.

Edit: I think they did a lot of updates. Gonzaga’s is 64% now. Before it was like 78%.

Where do you find the admissions rate on College Board? We are curious about the rate of admission at some schools after a deferral - could you tell me where you found it? know s

[College Search - Seattle University - Seattle U - At a Glance](<a href=“College Search - BigFuture | College Board”>College Search - BigFuture | College Board) Use the “college quickfinder” for any school in their database. It doesn’t say anything about deferral rates, though. It only posts the percent of freshman let in, the amount of transfers who applied (1720), and the amount of transfers who were admitted/enrolled (787/390).

ilikeUW, what I’m worried about now is that the amount of freshman students they admitted will negatively impact me as a transfer. More freshman= less room for transfers. Thanks for confirming it was 66%, too! Sometimes I wonder if I’m going crazy.
